Scoffed & Quaffed – North African Spice, Saturday 7th September 6.00pm

Another addition to our Middle Eastern Cooking Program is North African Spice.
What makes and builds the core of North African cuisine is every families version of Chermoula, the wonderful spice and herb mix used in so many dishes from grilled fish to Lamb Tagines. Come and learn how to make your version of it in this class and use it with other key ingredients such as dried fruits to create a wonderful fish tagine.

We will also teach you all about the spices used in this region’s cuisine,  how to make your own preserved lemons and ras el hanout which of course you will get to take home with you.
You will create a real banquet of amazingly mouth watering dishes of all your favourites.
All courses will be served with tastings of matching local boutique wines for a complete foodie journey!

Proposed Menu:

Warm eggplant & tomato salad w/ crisp flatbreads (Zaalouk)

Chermoula, Fish & Fennel Tagine w/ Spiced couscous,

Halva and chocolate mousse

Each guest will take home a small jar of preserved lemons and a packet of their own ras el hanout.


Age suitability: 18 +.

North African Cooking at Scoffed
Learn all your favourite North African dishes in our North African Spice class.
We all know that wine and food go really well together, so we have teamed up with local boutique wineries to bring a bit of colour to our range of fine dining style cooking courses in Adelaide. As well as creating restaurant style dishes, scoffing some amazing food and learning from professional chefs how to cook it, you’ll also taste some delicious local wines that compliment perfectly. Akhi will take you through each of the 5 dishes step by step, teaching you about the ingredients and techniques as well as brushing up your knife skills!

About Scoffed
Scoffed school of food and fun is located at 441 Magill Rd, St Morris, 5068 in a purpose built kitchen designed to provide a relaxed and sociable, learning experience.
We have 6 Ariston 4 burner stove tops, 5 ovens and 2 microwave grills that allow us to provide a hands on experience for each of our guests.
Whilst we are not a registered training destination we pride ourselves on our professionalism, warmth, spirit of fun and love of cooking, especially the eating of delicious food with friends old and new after each class.
Every guest in our kitchen receives a warm welcome, their own apron (and hat if required) to wear for the duration of the class, a work station, equipment, and ingredients to create the dishes learnt in class.

All guests must wear closed toe shoes and have long hair tied up.
When booking a class with Scoffed you give us permission to use photos for promotional purposes.

Bookings may be transferred up to 7 days prior, but will incur a $10 admin fee. Bookings cancelled later than this are not refundable or transferable.
Minimum numbers are required to run classes. If these minimums are not achieved then the class will be postponed until the minimums are met.

Scoffed and COVID-19

Anyone exhibiting flu like symptoms is requested to stay home and will not be permitted to enter the Scoffed kitchen.
Unfortunately bookings are not refundable or transferable unless we have to cancel a class. In this case vouchers will be issued in lieu of a refund.
