Scoffed and COVID-19
Due to COVID-19, classes have to operate slightly differently from before. Please bear with us whilst we manage our operations as well as we can in these difficult times.
Parents of children under 8 will need to book a spot in the class for themselves to supervise their child(ren) as normal staff supervision is not allowed under the COVID safe plan.
Parents who wish to stay on site in the cafe to watch will also need to book a table so that we can safely manage numbers. Please call or message us to let us know.
Dishes made by children in the class will be put into take away containers to take home rather than eaten on site because of social distancing requirements.
Anyone exhibiting flu like symptoms is requested to stay home and will not be permitted to enter the Scoffed kitchen.
Unfortunately bookings are not refundable or transferable unless we have to cancel a class. In this case vouchers will be issued in lieu of a refund.
More About Food Chiefs Harry Potter day
Scoffed will be dressed and decorated in theme today, creating a mysterious and enigmatic atmosphere for our cooking classes. There will be prizes, Harry Potter decorations and magic galore as we pit our cooking prowess against he who cannot be named!
Our Food Chief program is designed for your budding chef to spend more time in the kitchen with our qualified chef learning basic skills and techniques. Whether they have cooked before or not at all, the classes will build up skill levels by teaching everything from basic knife skills and how to chop onions to frying perfect omelettes, stir fries or curries, and making pasta, bread or cakes from scratch, to name but a few. Our classes are very hands on, so over the 90 minutes they get to do everything including eating what they have made at the end. Each time they come they get a Food Chiefs stamp which they can redeem for their very own coloured wooden spoon. Once they have collected all their wooden spoons we give them a Food Chiefs’ Hat and Apron. The program is designed in such a way that kids can come to every class or pick and choose which ones to attend. Obviously the more they come to, the more they will learn and the quicker they’ll get their Food Chiefs Hat.
