Food Chiefs Teenage Masterclass, ‘Korean Klassic’, Saturday 14th March 12:00pm – 2:00pm


Every fortnight we visit a new country giving the kids a flavour of a savoury and sweet dish from places far and wide. The teenagers get their own recipes, measure out their ingredients, take instruction from the chef and learn how to clear up after themselves. Each week they learn a new dish and technique, challenging their palate in a safe and nurturing way. We’re visiting Korea this week where the kids will learn how to make Hotteok – Sweet Pancakes.

Dress code: Long hair tied up and runners on feet please.

Our Food Chief teenage master class program is designed for your budding chef to spend more time in the kitchen with our qualified chef learning basic skills and techniques. In these classes they cook independently, learning how to interpret recipes, measure out their own ingredients and follow instructions from the chef. Whether they have cooked before or not at all, the classes are still simple enough for them to follow.
Kids work around a stove top with up to 1 other student depending on the size of the class and each group will make at least 2 elements to create a dish. We try to pair up children based on ability or age to ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone.
Each time they come they get a Food Chiefs stamp which they can redeem for their very own coloured wooden spoon. Once they have collected all their wooden spoons we give them a Food Chiefs’ Hat and Aprons.

Scoffed school of food and fun is located at 441 Magill Rd, St Morris, 5068 in a purpose built kitchen designed to provide a relaxed and sociable, learning experience.
We have 6 Ariston induction stove tops (each with 4 burners), 5 ovens and 2 microwave grills that allow us to provide a hands on experience for each of our guests.
Whilst we are not a registered training destination we pride ourselves on our professionalism, warmth, spirit of fun and love of cooking, especially the eating of delicious food with friends old and new after each class.
Every guest in our kitchen receives a warm welcome, their own apron (and hat if required) to wear for the duration of the class, a work station, equipment and ingredients to create the dishes learnt in class.
Soft copies of recipes are emailed out to participants after the class.
All guests must wear closed toe shoes and have long hair tied up.
When booking a class with Scoffed you give us permission to use photos for promotional purposes.
Carers are welcome to assist students, but will need to pay 50% of the ticket cost.
Bookings may be transferred up to 48 hours prior, but will incur a $10 admin fee. Bookings cancelled later than this are not refundable or transferable.
Minimum numbers are required to run classes. If these minimums are not achieved then the class will be postponed until the minimums are met.
